Who We Are
True Green Capital Management LLC (“TGC”) is led by an experienced team of electric power and finance industry professionals with a strong investment track record. From its inception in July 2011, TGC has demonstrated its capacity to originate, finance, build, and manage institutional quality, bankable distributed power projects with competitive entry costs.
Prior to founding TGC, Panos was a Managing Director for four years at Plainfield Asset Management, a special situations hedge fund based in Greenwich, CT with over $5 billion in peak assets under management. He was the analyst responsible for a global approximately $1.5 billion energy portfolio consisting of high yield, bank debt and private equity investments. While at Plainfield, Panos built and managed an approximately $250 million renewable energy private equity portfolio. Finally, as part of his role on Plainfield Panos was interim CEO and President of HelioSphera SA, a European 60MW p.a. thin film PV solar module manufacturer during a 15 month period.
Earlier in his career, Panos was for four years an Executive Director with the Goldman Sachs commodity business (JAron) in London focused on European Power and Gas markets as well as distressed debt power markets.
Panos has also spent eight years with McKinsey & Co, most recently as an Associate Partner, serving major US and European energy companies on M&A and commodity risk management.
From 1994 to 1995, Panos was a derivatives analyst at Intercapital Brokers in London. From 1991 to 1994, while working on his doctoral thesis, Panos consulted to the UK power sector, principally with Southern Electric PLC.
Panos holds a Ph.D. in Electric Power Industry Deregulation Economics from the London Business School, a MSc in operations research from the London School of Economics, a MSc in computer science from the University of Dundee, UK and a B.S. in pure mathematics from the University of Patras, Greece.
Prior to True Green Capital, Bo was a principal at Voyage Investment Management, an alternative investment firm that managed over US$200 million in assets. While at Voyage, Bo had various roles including investment evaluation, trading and ongoing portfolio management, with a focus on energy.
Prior to Voyage, Bo was an analyst in BlackRock’s Proprietary Alpha Group, which managed over US$5 billion in energy-focused alternative investments. Bo was a top 50 nationally ranked US junior tennis player and was a member of Harvard’s Varsity Tennis Team. Bo received a B.A. from Harvard University.
Dan previously served as Controller of ESL Investments Inc. from 2004 through 2013, where he was responsible for operations, accounting and tax for a multi-billion dollar group of hedge funds.
Dan earlier served at Globeop Financial Services, as Head of Operations; Deephaven Capital Management as Controller; and with The State Investment Council, Bank of Bermuda, as Portfolio Accountant. Dan began his career as an Associate with Arthur Andersen.
Dan received his Master of Professional Accounting degree from University of Texas at Austin, and his BS/BA in Accounting from Western New England College.
Previously, Don was a partner in the corporate department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, a large international law firm, where his practice encompassed advising public and private companies across a broad range of transactions, as well as advising private fund managers and other financial sponsors on fund formations, capital raising, and regulation. Don also served as Vice-Chair of the firm’s Energy and Clean Technologies Group and has significant experience in the renewable energy and clean technology sectors. Prior to that, Don served as General Counsel at RNK Capital, an investment management company with peak assets under management in excess of $1 billion that focused on investments in the environmental, clean technology and renewable energy sectors. Earlier in his career, Don practiced law in the M&A group at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.
Don holds an AB from Georgetown University and a JD from New York University School of Law, where he was a Notes Editor for the NYU Law Review.
Chris was previously a Director for four years with WestLB Securities and its successor in New York, responsible for originating and executing project & acquisition finance transactions, as well as managing a global portfolio of debt facilities in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Between 2006 and 2010 Chris was an Associate and Vice-President with Deutsche Bank Securities’ Natural Resources group in New York, where he originated and executed M&A and capital markets transactions primarily in the power & utilities sector. Prior to Deutsche Bank Chris held positions with the Vanguard Group, McKinsey & Company, and Citigroup.
Chris holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA from Kenyon College.
Before joining True Green Capital, Nicholas led solar investments at Capricorn Investment Group, where he worked from 2007 – 2015. At Capricorn, he helped close investments into over 60MW of solar assets globally, from India to Massachusetts. He also closed investments into TerraForm Power, the world’s first solar PV YieldCo, DEPCOM Power, a pure-play solar EPC business, and Sunpreme, a world-class module manufacturer. Mr. Minekime began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group, based in Hong Kong for a period of 2 years.
Nicholas is a graduate of Williams College and holds a master’s in politics from National Chengchi University in Taipei, where he was a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar. He is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
Rami previously served in roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2010 to 2014, as an Assurance Experienced Associate auditing Fortune 500 companies as well as private corporations and a Tax Experienced Associate performing tax services to private corporations including Private Equity Firms. Prior to PwC, he served as a Staff Accountant at Maier, Markey & Justic, assisting smaller companies with back office reporting and auditing larger companies.
Rami received his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees with a concentration in Accounting from Pace University. He’s been an active Certified Public Accountant since 2012.
Adam was earlier Founder and Director of Origination for BAM Solar LLC.
Adam was previously Acquisitions Director within a $300 million real estate group at Adler Group Inc after his earlier role as financial analyst with AIG.
Adam received a M.Sc. in Real Estate from the Chapman Graduate School of Business, Miami, FL and his B.Sc. in Finance from Indiana University.
Before Goldman, John was a Senior Vice President in the commodity trading group at Lehman Brothers for seven years.
John has also worked in commodities trading for Mitsui & Co., Metallgesellschaft Corp., and also in auditing for Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst&Young).
Prior to forming WR , Henri was Partner of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking Partners and Managing Director of Lehman Brothers Inc. Henri was a member of Lehman’s Investment Committee and IB Operating Committee.
Henri has invested across a wide range of industries. He sits on boards of portfolio companies and plays an active role in capital allocation and strategy decisions.
Prior to forming WR, Frank worked at Kidder, Peabody, Inc., in New York City in the equity syndicate department.
Frank has extensive private equity and capital markets experience across a wide range of industries. In addition to sitting on the board of TGC and other portfolio companies, he currently serves as a director to several corporations including First Constitution Bancorp (NASDAQ: FCCY)
